Khaled Sasa
I am a Muslim & Queer Palestinian activist-scholar who devotes his life to anti-oppression work. My experience with Islamophobia, Queerphobia, and anti-Palestinian racism led me to become a leading advocate against these intersecting forces of oppression.
My BSc in Biology and MA in Globalization allow me to holistically contextualize global impacts of imperialism, colonialism, and capitalism on communities, effective ways in which policy change can be achieved, and the ways in which grounded solidarity can inform genuine allyship. My knowledge of Islamic justice leads my commitment to defending LGBTQ+ rights. Being a third-generation Palestinian refugee on Turtle Island gives me the unique ability to draw on my lived experience to shed light on the violence of settler colonialism around the world, including Canada and Israel, and provide tools to confront it.
